Australian television presenter Denise Drysdale has been rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries on the set of an upcoming reality TV show.
On Thursday, the TV veteran was escorted to Brisbane hospital after a fall which caused a shoulder injury.
The news was confirmed by Drysdale’s good friend, entertainment reporter Craig Bennett, who said the 71-year-old “took a tumble”.
“She’s wound up doing herself terrible damage,” he said. “She’s in hospital now, she’s going to be OK.”
Studio 10’s Sarah Harris also mentioned that “she will have surgery today so it’s serious”.
Bennet added, “She’s about to be wheeled into surgery to have certain body bits fixed up.”
Two years ago, Drysdale suffered a knee injury when she was getting out of bed. In 2019, she had also endured a blindness scare that forced her to call the ambulance.
“I woke up in the middle of the night and rang the ambulance which was a big thing for me to do,” she said at the time. “The doctor told me that if I had waited another day, I might’ve gone blind.”
