Eddie Van Halen’s wife Janie Liszewski says her heart is “shattered” following his death.
The ex-stunt performer, 50, shared a tribute to the legendary rocker on Wednesday, one day after he died following a battle with cancer aged 65.
She posted an Instagram photo of herself and her husband relaxing on the beach.

“My husband, my love, my Peep,” she began in her caption. “My heart and soul have been shattered into a million pieces. I never knew it was possible to cry so many tears or feel such incredible sadness.
“Our journey together has not always been an easy one but in the end and always we have a connection and love that will always be.
“Saying goodbye is the hardest thing I have ever had to do so instead I say so long, I will see you again soon in a place with no pain or sorrow. Please watch over Kody and I. We love you and miss you so very much.”

The Van Halen co-founder and beloved guitarist died Tuesday, October 6. His son Wolfgang confirmed the news shortly after, sharing that his dad passed away after battling cancer for years.
The musician was married twice. He shares Wolfgang with his ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli, whom he was married to from 1981 until 2007.
He then wed Janie in 2009, and they remained together until his death.
