I mean The Mandalorian was about 100 million, but that was a whole season of episodes.
Netflix is paying close to 200 million for some original films.
I guess the real question is is the cut that a company would get out of a digital subscription more then the cut they would get out of a ticket price and digital sales.
If the answer is yes, then it’s clearly worth it.
If the answer is no, then Disney/Netflix/WB/etc have all sunk huge amounts of money into flops that might have the cost recouped via subscriptions.
