After meeting online, 90 Day Fiancé stars Shaeeda Sween, and Bilal Hazziez spent a week in Trinidad and Tobago. Romance, it seems, was floating in the island breezes, and they quickly agreed on an engagement. Eventually, Shaeeda left her Caribbean home, traveling thousands of miles to start her life in Missouri.
On her arrival, problems began creeping to the surface. First, Bilal decided to “test” Shaeeda’s intentions, pretending to be poorer than his reality. Later, the 42-year-old insisted on a prenuptial agreement. And at one point, he openly asked the yoga instructor, ““Do you want to take everything that I have?”
Fans are now curious: Where did fate lead Shaeeda? Down the aisle – or down another airport runway?
But first, Shaeeda took to Instagram this week to defend Bilal amid backlash from fans who are accusing him of being a narcissist.
“For as long as I’ve known Bilal, he has been a very sweet, caring, sensitive, kindhearted soul who gives me whatever I want and I’ll do the same for him. No he is not a NARCISSIST. No he is not controlling because he is Muslim,” wrote Shaeeda on May 25. “But because perception is reality, we’ve been conditioned to perceive a black man as scared, illiterate, dead beat, dependent and struggling.”
She continued, “If that’s not what we see then yes he has to be a NARCISSIST. So let’s destroy him and humble him to remind him of what he has to be. STOP trying to DEFAME him with perceptions – sitback and enjoy the show!”
According to In Touch, Bilal and Shaeeda got hitched on December 18, 2021. They obtained a wedding license eleven days earlier in Jackson County.
The marriage was conducted by Hanif M. Khalil, a Texas-based officiate.
For two long years (due to the pandemic), the stars were forced apart. When the waiting period concluded, Shaeeda traveled 13 hours, taking three different flights to reach her love. As the storyline played out, however, several fans turned on the relationship – and begged Shaeeda to leave him.
The concerns were numerous. On a list of Reasons Not to Wed, perhaps the biggest was that infamous car ride: Bilal seemingly threatened to kick Shaeeda out of the vehicle and suggested she could take an Uber.
Now, regardless of their problems, Shaeeda and Bilal are more than just fiancés. Does this mean their issues are solved?
An affirmative seems unlikely.
